ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
WELCOME LETTER
Faculty of Mathematics - University of Belgrade and Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, traditionally, in cooperation with other higher education and research institutions, as well as scientific societies, organize XLVIII Symposium on Operational Research - SYM-OP-IS 2021.
This year, the XLVIII SYM-OP-IS takes place in Banja Koviljača from 20 to 23 September 2021.
On behalf of the Programme and Organizing Committee of SYM-OP-IS 2021, it is our pleasure to invite you to participate in this year's Symposium on Operational Research. We hope that your contribution will help to continue the tradition and quality of the Symposium.
We encourage all contributions within and beyond the scope of specific scientific disciplines and countries, with the aim of furthering international cooperation. In addition, we warmly invite collaborators and students of Prof. Mladenović to contribute to a Special section on VNS method and applications, dedicated to Prof. Nenad Mladenović celebrating his 70th birthday and 45 years of research work.
SCOPE
SYM-OP-IS is an international symposium which traditionally gathers researchers, practitioners and educators in operations research to discuss and present their theoretical and practical research results in formal and an informal setting. The goal of the Symposium is to inspire knowledge exchange within and among different fields of optimization.
IMPORTANT DATES
Due to the global Covid 19 situation, there is a possibility for participants from abroad to join the conference and give presentation online.

- 16 September, 2021 Information on organized bus transportation
The bus from Belgrade to Banja Koviljača departs on Monday, Septembaer 20, at 9.00, from the Vladimira Popovića street (final stop of bus lines 27e and 35), right behind hotel Hayat Regency in New Belgrade
The return trip from Banja Koviljača to Belgrade is planned for Thursday, September 23, around 12h.

- 18 August, 2021 Format of the Symposium SYM-OP-IS 2021
Symposium SYM-OP-IS 2021 will be held physically, in the hotel Royal Spa in Banja Koviljača. Participants from abroad who are not able to travel to Serbia, have the possibility to present their papers online (please, inform the organizers by email in that case).
If in the forthcoming period, epidemiological measures on the state level, prevent us from having the Symposium on site, we will turn to online format. In that case, participants will be notified about the change of the conference format and the difference in conference fee will be refunded to the participants.
Please, let us remind you that the deadline for paying the conference fee is August 20, 2021.
- 15 June, 2021 The final deadline for paper/abstract submission is June 22, 2021. There will be no further extension of the deadline.
- 31 May, 2021 The deadline for paper/abstract submission is extended to June 15, 2021.
